Baby, It's Cold Outside

Okay, so, back in business. Jackson is getting a bit more independent these days. He's happy to bounce in his jumparoo for a bit, and to play with toys in his chair while mom does dishes or makes lunch:

He loves that thing. (He stopped halfway through the video to feel his tooth with his tongue)

Contemplating his toys. Ignore that bit of breakfast I forgot to clean off the tray.

This means that the house is sometimes, *gasp*, clean. Holy cow. I thought about taking pictures so there would be proof that my house was at some point clean, but I got cocky and figured it would be a cinch to keep clean from now on and now it's dirty again. Meh. My baby's happy, I don't care.

It snowed on and off this week a couple of times, so now we have a respectable amount in our yard:

Ready for a snowy walk (I promptly ran back inside and made myself some tea)

We've been using the fireplace a lot, and the space heater Brian and Cathie gave us for Christmas is really coming in handy. Plus I'm baking or roasting dinner in the oven a lot more these days. So we stay cozy.

And, finally, who couldn't use some baby belly laughs to brighten their day:
